Why we recommend it

+

Suri's brush heads are made from castor oil-based bioplastic - genuinely more sustainable than the nylon alternatives - and are recyclable through their take-back scheme. The aluminium handle is built to last decades, dramatically reducing plastic waste versus disposable brushes.

We've tested this brush for six months. The sonic vibration is comparable to leading conventional brands, battery life is excellent, and the design is genuinely beautiful on a bathroom shelf. It earns its recommendation.

CarbonBalance review

The brush that actually delivers

We spent six months with the Suri toothbrush before recommending it. Our bar is simple: does it perform as well as a conventional alternative, and does the sustainability story hold up to scrutiny? In Suri's case, the answer to both is yes.

The sonic motor is powerful - 33,000 strokes per minute - and our testers reported noticeably cleaner teeth within two weeks. Battery life is around five weeks per charge, which is better than most competitors. The magnetic charging stand is elegant and the travel case is genuinely useful.

On the sustainability side, the credentials are real. The castor oil bioplastic heads are a meaningful step beyond nylon, and the take-back scheme for used heads is actually simple to use. The aluminium handle produces more embodied carbon than a plastic one at manufacture, but over a ten-year lifespan the maths are firmly in its favour.
